A Typical Old Taiwanese House in Da Si
This old house, now part of a dessert restaurant, is preserved for historical sightseeing. Walking passed the store front, we got a glimpse of the world a century ago. This house was narrow and long, with 2 courtyards sandwiched among 3 main buildings (the store front, the living room and storage room and the dining room and etc, the bedrooms and kitchen and etc). On both sides of each courtyard were covered passages, connecting main buildings.

Sichuan Hot Pot (川巴子火鍋樓)
This Sichuan Hot Pot (川巴子火鍋樓) restaurant had the best dry noodles and one of the tastiest breads in my life. (Sichuan food is famous for its spiciness.) This hot pot was different from the traditional one; the right half was full of hot Sichuan oil while the left half was yummy fish broth with some mild Chinese medicine and Chinese sauerkraut as base. The two appetizers we ordered were plenty spicy, but somehow it was hard to stop. (I needed Oolong tea to weaken the spice though.)
