Selby Trail
Today we hiked our good old Selby Trail in Tilden Park, my first hike ever since coming back from Taiwan. Even though I had been saying that my Chi Kung practice had helped my health, I had no idea on its other effects. This hike would be its first test.
David saw this pair of funky roof pipes on our way to Tilden Park. They reminded me of “The Nightmare Before Christmas.”
This was the very first time that I had no trouble of finishing the last part and the most strenuous part of this particular route. The end of Selby Trail was not easy, but it was nowhere close to the finishing section; I usually had to stop several times to catch my breath. Not this time. Yes, my heartbeat was quick, but I wasn’t short of breath. And this was incredible! The scientific mind would tell me that it was because I worked out everyday in Taiwan, but I knew better. My legs weren’t sore, my feet weren’t hurting, and my palms were excited with all the Chi running. This was awesome!
This sunset was taken from the house, not from the trail, but I don’t think that you would mind.
Sunset tends to be prettier in winter than in summer, plus fogs don’t usually come bother us in winter. BTW, you can see SF at the bottom left and the Golden Gate Bridge at the bottom.
