Let It Snow
We definitely picked a lucky day to come to Chicago.
We got up at 4:30am and expected to get on our 9:30am flight. However, snow conditions in Chicago kept on delaying our flight, but finally we took off at 12:30pm. Once we did make it to the O’Hare International Airport, all the major drama had finished.
But the arrivals and departures lists on the monitors told a different story: 95% of the flights were either canceled or delayed. (I wish I weren’t so tired from the flight and had taken a photo of it…) According to the AP, “About 500 flights were canceled at O’Hare International Airport because of poor visibility.”
And, of course, everyone was telling us how nice it was yesterday and that we should’ve flown in yesterday instead. No, no, trust me on this one; if we had come in yesterday, the chaos would’ve happened yesterday instead.
[04/12/2007 Update] Chicago Tribune finally updated their website: “O’Hare still reeling from snowfall.”
