Skillet Peach Tart
Last weekend Jon made a skillet peach tart with super ripe peaches from their farmer’s market, and it was delicious! So today David decided to reproduce the tart with OK peaches from Safeway. We didn’t expect it to be as tasty as Jon’s due to our inferior ingredient, but we figured that it would still be pretty nice anyway.
I was so wrapped up in my JSP world and forgot to take photos of those happily sizzling, caramelizing peaches… My bad… Fortunately I woke up just in time when the tart was done. The above photo (with a little loquat on the right for decoration) was when it was just taken out of the oven; the one on the right was after David flipped it over onto a plate. See the golden delicious color? Too bad that we forgot the vanilla ice cream. The peaches were on the acidic side for me, but that was expected.
Our next mission is to find ripe peaches at our local farmer’s market.

Blaise Aguera y Arcas: Photosynth demo
Yesterday in Eric Burke’s blog, he cut-and-pasted Blaise Aguera y Arcas’s amazing talk at TED.com. I wanted to do the same in my blog as well, but WordPress.com did not allow that and I had to settle with this little GIF on the left.
But, anyway, take a look at the video even if you are not a geek. It’s not something that’s just cool for cool’s sake; it’s something that will have a huge impact on everyone’s life in the near future.
Click HERE to see the talk.
