Blueberries & Flowers
June 7, 2007
Our blueberries are getting ready for their big summer harvest! Last month we thought that the wind knocked down all the flowers and were sad about not going to have any of them this year. But only a week after we found a bunch of them actually grew under where the flowers used to be. We two city people only knew how to eat blueberries but had no idea where they came from. Silly us!
On the other hand, Berkeley doesn’t get enough sun to fully sweeten those berries. Well, you know whose tummy those berries will go to. (Hint: Not mine!)

Our Abutilon Nabob and Abutilon megapotamicum has been super happy since early April and continue going strong. The previous owner must have really loved those lantern shaped flowers, since she planted them at the prime estate of the yard and it’s impossible not to notice them. |
