Our Mini Orchard v.3

June 8, 2007

It had been another month, and it was time to check our mini orchard again. See how much they had grown since March and April? It’s truly amazing! (It’ll be even more amazing to be able to eat them, of course.)

plums-06082007 Every single one was bigger than my thumb now! :D Hard to believe that they used to be so tiny.
I had no idea if this branch was the one that I took those original photos from. Unlike the plum tree, who has stiff branches to support about 5 dozen of plum, the apricot tree allowed its thin branches to be bent by its clustered fruit. I also wasn’t sure if I defoliated it properly… They seemed to stop growing since April. Oh well, we’ll see. This year would be its first year to bear fruit, so maybe we shouldn’t keep our hope too high. apricots-06082007
strawberries-06082007 Last year at this time we had plenty of little strawberries perfuming our yard, but this year they were nowhere to be found until I did some weeding yesterday. However, I only revealed the ornamental ones (the useless kind, IMHO). The edible ones were still missing, and so was its mouthwatering scent.

It seems that plants grow very well in your garden.
    花又大又鮮豔,水果也很豐碩。
