300

I’m normally not interested in violent movies with lots of blood shedding. But when the movie “300” came out, two things caught my attention:
- The whole movie was done in the studio, and all the excellent scenic CGI images were added later.
- Even though this is a guy’s movie, it has a strong female character — the queen (played by the beautiful Lena Headey). And even the tough Spartan king had to listen to his queen.
We weren’t surprised by the plot (all 300 solders died at the end), but the acting was impressive! I didn’t expect to see this kind of theatrical performance in an action movie. Maybe they didn’t dress practically for battles, but, boy, all those 6 packs were certainly delicious.
However, without showing the strong bond between the queen and the king, the movie would be superficial and empty. Their relationship added the necessary human touch that enriched the film.
Well, but at the end of the day, I can live without all the gory fighting scenes.
I guess that I’m just not a big action movie fan.
