Now I have it back to life and wanna add it here as a reminder to myself. If you happen to run into the same situation, remember: DON'T PANIC! My locked iPhone is running OS 3.1.2. As I was syncing my iPhone with iTune, all of a sudden, the white Apple Logo Screen of Death showed up. And no matter how many times and how long I held both Home + Power buttons, the white Apple logo just wouldn't go away. I followed the old instructions in this blog and prayed that one of them still worked... Well, I'm happy to report, even though it's 3.1.2 instead of the broken 2.0, the basic instructions in the above YouTube video still works! My iPhone woke up as if nothing had happened, whew! However, I vaguely remembered seeing something just like what you described in one of the iPhone blog sites. I can't remember which one it is, but you can check <a href="http://www.tuaw.com/" rel="nofollow">TUAW</a> or <a href="http://www.simonblog.com/" rel="nofollow">Simon Blog</a>. I seemed to see something like what you described here a month or so ago. If not, they seem to be pretty helpful to people with iPhone questions. And if it's still under warranty, you can set up an appointment with Apple stores and have their tech support look at it. If they can't fix your problems, they'll give you a new iPhone. Now it is frozen on “connect to itunes” screen, so all i can see is the itunes logo, with a picutre of the usb cable pointing to it. i have pressed down the home and turn off button at the top several times, which just resets the phone and goes back to th “connect to itunes screen” since this happened yesterday, i have had no change, even when my battery went dead. i tried charging it and still no change. i tried connecting it to itunes a dozen times, but itunes doesnt recognise it’s plugged in, and i cant find the device anywhere on my computer. it’s as if it doesnt exist. i looked on a website and it told me to try this...
