My iPhone Hell
August 27, 2008
The “White Apple Logo Death of Screen” happened again… And for some unknown reason, it took me FOUR times to restore! To my surprise, the second time my iPhone was actually successfully restored, including all the data! I played with it to make sure that nothing was lost, and, yup, everything was alive and kicking. This was the very first time that I saw iTunes managing to restore data from its backup. (Shame on Apple’s backup program!) I was pretty happy and ready to start having my world back until I saw that iTunes just wouldn’t acknowledge the newly restored iPhone.
iTunes simply refused to accept that my iPhone was back to normal and insisted me to restore it again. See the photo? I tried on my PC, and, worse, iTunes didn’t even show the iPhone’s existence. *sigh* So I had to RESTORE it to the pre-app state. And half an hour later, for some bizarre reason, instead of showing me the successful pre-app state, I got the DFU mode screen and iTunes went straight back to the restore screen. *GROWL*
I don’t want to bore you further for my own iPhone misery. If it happens again, I’ll post the adorable E*TRADE Trading Bab instead.
P.S. Just to clarify: I only had 3 apps installed when the Death of Screen happened you could see from the photo.
