Revisit Raohe Street Night Market (再訪饒河街)

OK, this time I got my camera ready to report what we had last week.

1. The Chinese Medicine Pork Chop Soup Stand (陳董藥燉排骨)

soup-vendor-12192008 This road stand was huge for a road stand, but it was always full of people, especially in winter.
soup-before-12192008 Last time I took the photo after I almost finished the soup. This time I did remember to do that before diving in. :)
soup-after-12192008 The pile of bones was from 2 bowls of soup. My sister thought that it looked more impressive to stack bones from both bowels. Boy, weren’t they good!

2. Cartoon Cakes (脆皮雞蛋燒)

cartoon-cakes-vendor-12202008 The vendor looked pretty bored right before we arrived. As soon as we placed our 2 orders, another family came right after us and did the same. All of a sudden the vendor got pretty busy.
cartoon-cakes-12202008 Those 2 cartoon characters, Doraemon and Hello Kitty, were way more famous than last week’s. We three actually had to fight to get them! And the same happened to the family after us, believe it or not. We knew that they all tasted the same, but there was just something highly satisfying about taking a bite off your favorite cartoon characters. ;)
This road stand was pretty famous according to the news! We were lucky bumping into it last week! cartoon-cakes-news-12202008

See how cartoon cakes were made:
